1, 2, 3, 4......

Just a quick note to brag on Delaney's latest accomplishment...She counted to six today all by herself! I was not counting or even talking to her at the time, I was just sitting next to her on the floor while she was building with her blocks. Next thing I know she says: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6" !!! I can't believe how fast she is learning and growing!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Well, it wasn't just a fluke...Delaney went pee-pee in the potty AGAIN before her bath tonight! We are so proud of her! She gets a chocolate teddy graham after she goes, so she gets really excited about that. We're still not expecting an overnight change, she's still so young to fully understand the whole idea of potty training, but we're proud and excited for her taking these first steps toward it. She has been such a good girl for us over this long weekend. We decided to take on the project of painting our kitchen and great room, which is no small task! It will definitley take us a while to complete it, but we used this weekend to get a good jump on it. So far it is looking good, we'll post before and after pics when it is all done. For now here are just a few pics from this weekend. Happy Memorial Day!!!

Friday we celebrated Aunt Stacy's birthday. Delaney had fun singing "happy, happy, happy" and eating the yummy chocolate cake!

Here is a pic of Cory painting. It was very late Sunday night and he was very sun burned from softball that day!

We had a visitor at our back porch door this morning! We think he wanted to come in for breakfast!

Yeah for Laney!!!

No pictures to post today, just some big news...Tonight before her bath Delaney went pee-pee in the potty for the first time! We are so proud of our big girl! Can't believe she's already big enough for this, where has the time gone? Pray for her (and us) as we continue on with potty training. We are not expecting her to learn it completely for a while, but we are so happy and proud that she has taken so well to it so far. More updates to come so stay tuned....

Potty Time at the Carpenter House!

Well, I did it. I bought Delaney her very first potty seat yesterday just to introduce her to the idea of it. I thought she might sit on it once and then not really care about it. Well, she is borderline obsessed with the potty now! She has asked me to put her on the potty a good 5 times this morning before her nap. She has yet to pee-pee on it, but she loves to sit on it and then pulls down the toilet paper and "wipes" and then throws it in the potty. I'm not sure if it's actually the potty she loves so much or the fact that I put some of her books in the bathroom for her to read while she's sitting. Whatever it is I'm glad she likes it and is not afraid of it! She even picked it up and brought it out into the living room and wanted to sit on it, haha! Now if she would just peepee in it.....Wish we had a better camera, these pictures came out so bad, but I thought she looked adorable anyway!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! I enjoyed a lovely Sunday with Laney and Cory. They made me breakfast and surprised me with flowers. After church we had lunch and then came home for nap time. I got to go to the pool for a bit by myself while Laney slept. It was great to relax and soak up the sun. After nap time we just played and spent time doing what I love best, being with my precious girl! Here are some pics from today. Oh yeah, I also chopped all my hair off yesterday! It was so long I was able to donate to Locks of Love. These aren't the best pics of my new hair (as I said,I was at the pool!), but you get the idea. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, hope you all enjoyed your day, you have the most important job in the world!!!

Zoo Day!

Wednesday was Cory's birthday and he wanted to go to the zoo. We had fun looking at all of the animals. Laney of course was making all of her animal noises. It was a great day! Happy Birthday Cory!!!

Putting on our sunscreen before heading into the zoo.....

Dinner at Little Harbor

We had a nice dinner with Matt and Amy at Little Harbor in Ruskin. We ate a wonderful meal and then had fun looking out at the water on the pier. "Uncle" Matt and Daddy took Laney on the playground. What a fun time we had!

Making a Splash!

Delaney had her first pool day of the year a few weeks ago. We've been back many times since then, she is already turning into a little fish. We are considering doing swimming lessons with her in the very near future. She has a blast in the baby pool and when we are in the big pool she doesn't even want to be held, she wants to take off on her own. We have to hold on to her tight, she doesn't understand that she can't swim on her own yet. I can tell we have a little water baby on our hands! She loves to be outside and especially loves to splash in the pool. Enjoy these pics from her first pool trip this year! :)

Long time no post!

Wow, where has the time gone? I have found myself busier than ever and when I do get some down time in the evenings the last thing I usually feel like doing is blogging. So, I apologize again for letting so much time pass in between updates. I will try to do this more frequently I promise!

Delaney is doing great. She is talking up a storm, running all over and doing lots of new things. She can feed herself with a fork and often insists on it. Her favorite thing to eat is bananas and you on any given day you can hear her walking around singing her banana song, which is basically just "bannnaaannna, baaannnaannnaa" It's too cute! She loves to sing along to music in the car or on tv, and she still loves to dance. One of her new favorite things is doing somersaults (with Mommy's help of course). After I help her flip over she pops up and says "Tadaaa". I'm thinking that she will do well in dance or gymnastics when she's a bit older. She is so well behaved and has been doing great with listening to us. We never worry about taking her anywhere, she is always so good. I run all my errands with her and she is just happy to be out and about with me. She's been eating well, naps well, sleeps through the night, we really couldn't ask for anything better! She is calling Cory "Daddy" now instead of Dada which totally melts his heart! She loves to be outside and has really been loving the pool lately. We have been attending story time at our local library and Laney just loves it. She listens to the stories and interacts so well with the other kids. She hands them books and goes around and hugs all the other mommies. They all get a kick out of her! When the teacher reads stories about animals Delaney chimes in with all the animal noises. Cory and I are amazed everyday with the stuff that she comes up with! She learns so quickly and cracks us up with some of the things that she does and says. She definitley makes our lives interesting and brings us more joy than we've ever known!

So, without further delay, here's making up for lost time....enjoy the pics!!!!

We celebrated Easter a few days early with "The Smiths". Here are a few pics from that fun day:

Laney was the center of attention as always and loving every minute of it!
